Sky TV? Sky Broadband? Sky Phone? This sounds like you cancelled the service and then cancelled the direct debit shortly afterwards. If so that was the first mistake.0

Tell the debt collection agency straightaway that the amount owed is disputed and ask that it is itemised. This should give you a clue as to what has gone wrong. As PP has mentioned, usually the issue is that the DD has been cancelled before the final payment has been taken - this would also tie in with the exact amount of £80, which sounds like a subscription amount. Don't forget that Sky changed their Ts and Cs many years ago so that you have to give 31 days notice of cancellation. This means that in the worst case, you could be at least a month after your phone call before settling the final bill. If you've not taken this into account, this might explain the problem, but you will be contractually obliged to make this final payment if this is the case. If so, do it quickly as DC agency fees escalate rapidly.
