My insurers sent their loss adjustor around after a bathroom water leak has damaged the bathroom, joist and ceiling in the room below.
They have offered £1k to remove the bathroom suite and tiled floor, fix the joist, replace the floor and ceiling below, refit the bathroom suite and paint and plaster the ceiling in room below - leaving all in a good state of repair - no mention of dehumidifiers to actually suck out any moisture.

Quotes I am getting are at least £6k, how should I proceed as I am getting no communication except to say they are reviewing but their own contractors have at least a 5 week wait so they are keen on settling to 'speed things up'

  • Hi, have you gone back and challenged the offer? I've never done it but I've read on here that you can. If you have already has it made them rethink?
How long between the loss adjuster visit did it take to receive the offer?
    Thanks!
