Energy buyers groups - best and worst energy brokers
Hi there,
I work for a country Estate with 30+ homes and businesses. We have been approached by Northern Gas and Power (NGP) about forming an 'energy buyers group' with which they can go to market and get a cheaper deal for the tenants if they agree to sign up. We are committed to going with a 100% renewable supplier also, so hoping we can get a competitive price despite that restriction. However, there seem to be various complaints online about NGP being pushy and taking a huge cut from energy companies. Does anyone have experience with energy buyers groups and are there better brokers out there? I found one article which rated Quote My Energy as the best broker..and put NGP around 5th..but it doesn't specify whether they deal with buyers groups..also you never know who has funded these sort of posts so I'd much prefer some real human recommendations..
Any advice or experiences much appreciated.
Best, Miriam x

You may find more information on a business users forum rather than this consumer forum .

Any Broker you use will end up getting a cut from energy companies with their rates added onto whatever you need to pay. Therefore if you're able to, you would be better off getting quotes yourself. However I do understand that for most people operating in non-domestic, it isn't that simple and the money you pay for the brokers can be worth it.
I would suggest to get in touch with some of them and send the same information about what you want to do and just see what they offer in terms of price and service.1
