Dear all
Please watch out for this unscrupulous builder who owns Modern Loft Rooms in Harlow. [Edited by Forum Team]
(If you type in his full name with a dot com, there is a website dedicated to him online)
He has conned many customers, as there are reviews on the internet.
The owner - [Edited by Forum Team] has started and closed several companies over the years, leaving his customers to pick up the pieces. His previous companies are:
MCM LOFTS & EXTENSIONS LTD
LONDON LOFT SPACE CONVERSIONS LIMITED
NLLE LTD (also know as New London Lofts)
Room Extensions LTD
Here are the facts from our case:The owner gave us a false first name - [Edited by Forum Team]Did not work on days he agreed Not built to plans, loft built too high - council enforcement action to stop build and eventually ordered by council to remove structure.Unsafe work - another builder had to put braces on steel to support weight of roof.No skip - rubbish left on front garden for several weeksOutsourced work - no project managementLeft us with a leaking roof, only plastic to cover.CCJ and High Court enforcement action in progress

So was this a proper extension as to building regs or a cheap loft room?welshlegend1980 said:[Removed by Forum Team]0 -
Hi William
The plan was for it to be a proper loft extension intended to be another bedroom. It was not built to plans or within permitted development regulations.0 -
