Missing pension - United Response

I have been trying to contact my former employer United Response re my pension ,on and off since 2018. I have the paperwork with ref numbers, i've tried government website and the companies it possibly got sent to, but no-one seems able to help. It's very frustrating knowing i have a pension with them but i am unable to locate it and possibly draw some money from it now. United response say the pensions were bulk transferred and they did not keep a record of whose pension they sent where? Surely they have a responsibility to do this. Also they say its over 10 years ago so no longer have records.I'm at a loss as where to go now, i've contacted people's pension and tried various methods all to no avail.I did get married however i sent proof and had acknowledgement from them.

You added a question mark but forgot the question.
Surely they have a responsibility to do this.
This one is missing the question mark.  Perhaps it went walkabout. ;)     And the answer is no,  They actually have a responsibility to destroy that data after a period.
It is also worth remembering that you have a responsibility to keep the pension provider informed of your address and any other pertinent details that may change.

AFAIA, The Peoples pension don't do bulk transfers.  I could be wrong but their focus is auto-enrolment.
I did get married however i sent proof and had acknowledgement from them.
Who did you send proof to and get acknowledgement from?

Bulk transfers tend to go to the big insurers.  Aviva, Aegon, Standard Life, Prudential, Phoenix and ReAssure.  The latter two have been hoovering up old insurers. So, plans often end up there rather than being taken out with them directly.

Have you tried sending a letter to those companies, giving your name, maiden name, NI number, current address and previous addresses, DOB?   A quick letter saying you are not sure who the pension is with but can they check to see if they have any plans for you is all it takes.

Do you have any contact with previous staff members?  They may know as they would have been transferred too.

How long ago were you employed by United Response, for how long and how old were you when you were first employed by them?
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

What kind of pension was this?  Defined Benefit?  Defined Contribution?
