Internal vestibule - DIY or tradesman cost?

We're looking at houses right now and we really want an internal vestibule  (assuming the house we buy doesn't have one).   We'd be happy with either that or a porch but porches seem a lot more expensive and potentially need planning permission.

How much do you think it would cost to do something similar to the photo and would it be possible to do at least some of it ourselves to keep down costs?  We do want either glass or some sort of acrylic panels just to keep the light coming through.  It doesn't need to be fancy - we just need a cat "airlock"!

Also depends on what construction method you want/its connecting to etc. You can see in this case the "inner door" appears to be an external door given its both got the substantial step and its got a latch/yale lock on the door (so looks more like the original front door with a porch added on in front.

If you are happy to have it all wood and glass with an internal door then it wouldnt be too hard to do yourselves assuming you're comfortable with powertools.
