Parking Eye Fine

I have received a fine from 'Parking Eye' for £100 (£60 if I pay within 14 days).
I parked in a pub car park which I connected to a co-op car park which I was visiting for 5 minutes. I have received a letter fine today.
Some have said to ignore it as it's a private car park and not council or police fine so they don't have a leg to stand on. Can I do this and not pay the fine?
any help would be appreciated, this is my first one.

Those people talk **** !!! Lol
It's not a fine either , it's a Parking Charge Notice from a private company for a breach of the rules on Private property
This is commonly known as an invoice !! No private company can fine you , the police can and do !!
Google the name Barry Beavis and show those morons who advised you
If you ignore it they will take you to civil court where a loss would be about £175 , payable within 30 days or get a CCJ for 6 years , trashing your credit rating , like this new thread from one 4 years ago

Please confirm that the parking firm pursuing you is named 'ParkingEye' (of Chorley) as many newbies confuse the name of that company with the generic name for ANPR cameras that are utilised by many parking firms in car parks across the country. If a Co-op is involved, often CEL or NPE parking firms are in the mix.Just so we don't bolt down the wrong rabbit hole here! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
