Anglian Home Improvement Guarantee

Hi, I was hoping i could get some advice. We moved to our house in 2018. The conservatory at the back had had the windows replaced by Anglian and we were happy to see a guarantee attached covering for 10 years. Due to the recent bad weather, some water has got in and we wanted to claim on the warranty. At this point we were informed we did not request the guarantee to be transferred within 12 weeks of our purchase, and as such the guarantee is no more. I checked the guarantee certificate and nowhere does it state this requirement or that it is not transferrable. Anglian stated it was in the small print of the terms of purchase when the original owner bought the windows.
This does not seem right (or legal?). Surely if a guarantee is not transferrable, that should be clear on the guarantee

Did you ever get anywhere with your dispute with Anglian? I have a similar problem with Anglian windows installed by the previous home owner. I don't know how you are meant to know that you have to request a guarantee to be transferred over. The guarantee should apply to the house, not the customer.0

You are unlikely to get an answer, they have never returned to these forums since that single post over twelve months ago.0

Thanks for pointing that out.0

A lot of guarantees only apply to the purchaser0

I realize that, but I would expect any guarantee for a fixture, as opposed to a moveable item, would apply to the property, not the individual.0
