Is this is scam call?

I had a missed call on my mobile from an unknown mobile number (07...) As a very strange (and hopefully just coincidence) the number was almost identical to mine so that I actually thought it was my number at first glance. When I texted the number later it just said message failed try again. I tried texting from a different phone and the message also failed to send. Is this a scam call and a faked caller ID?

Report it as spam and move on with your day. And I'd suggest don't text numbers you don't recognise either.
