Simplicity British Gas Evolve final bill very wrong
I've got no idea how they cooked up the total but by my calculations Simplicity owe me.
I think I'll have to email them with all my calculations but just thought I'd run it by Folk here and see if people are getting similar results?
I have photos of monthly meter reads since the start of the contract and so have all necessary evidence but their final bill total is atrociously wrong.

When did you get your Final Simplicity bill...you seem to be the first that I have heard that has one..I was expecting them to appear until BGE had completed the switch (in my case 16 Feb) as BGE haven't even asked for meter readings yet. Did you supply meter readings to Simplicity around 31st Jan? Or did you switch from Simplicity to another supplier before BGE was announced as SOLR ?0

- Received an email today telling me to check my meter reads with their estimates for the final bill. The meter reads are up to date and so they have a correct meter read set in line with my own records i.e. their final read estimates are almost exactly what I inputted. The problem is their final bill differs hugely from my own calculations.
- The email said not to change supplier until after 1st March. I don't mind waiting as that still leaves me with time to find a new supplier before 1st April when the new rates kick in.
- I don't believe it's my error with the calculations. I have photos of the meters at the start and end of the contract. I've crunched the numbers, not forgetting the SCs and VAT, and their final figure is well out (more than £500).

I'm a bit confused. Who sent the email and final bill ,,Simplicity or BGE? What date have they billed the final bill up to? What date was the previous bill that you received from Simplicity as surely the final bill would just be for the period from there until they ceased trading?0

It certainly feels like the bill total has been fudged in the hope unsuspecting customers cough up one final time.
The wording in the email is curious,If your online account balance is negative – you owe Simplicity Energy money and we would ask you to make a payment through your online account.'Ask'? If a customer owed me money I wouldn't ask for payment, I'd simply deliver the invoice with an outstanding amount and polite instructions to pay.
Anyway, I'll have to email them.

Final bill from Simplicity Energy - up til end of Jan i.e. taken into account all DD payments from start of contract against all meter reads.0
-
Statement date 9th Feb for period ending end of Jan.
So, to be clear, this is their FINAL bill.0 -
Looks like it'll be best for you just to contact them and discuss, especially as you seem certain your calcs are correct.
interesting that you've had a final bill though.0 -
For those with issues with Simplicity Energy how have you got on? I’ve had a letter from a debt collection agency saying I owe them money but my final bill shows I am in credit with them.0

Last week I received an email from BGE saying my final balance was X. However, it's unclear as to whether this is a credit or a balance to pay. Previously I was told my account was in credit by BGE and that I'd be due a refund. (I thought the word 'balance' meant an amount to pay? Not surprising that the people working at these companies have a poor grasp of the English language along with poor accountancy skills resulting in bankruptcies.)
I emailed them about the balance and after several days they replied back:Currently we do not have any information in regards to when your Simplicity credit will be available. This is still being discussed with the Simplicity administrators and we are still working with them to have this matter resolved. However we are not able to speed this process up and can only thank you for your patience at this time. As soon as we have an update we will be in touch with you as well as the other ex-Simplicity customers with an outcome and a plan as to how your credit will be paid to youIt's taking much longer than they stated. I'd received this email back in early March:
Good afternoon,
We are hoping to have credits from Simplicity over to us by mid-March, this will be reflected on your account balance when we have it.
Regards,
C
