Advice needed found out house we are buying has holiday let restriction

Tiglet2 no, the property was vacated by the previous tenants so that the vendor could put it on the market. That is why the Estate Agent is offering it to us as, while they look to remove the restriction, the property sits empty. Obviously we are appealing as tenants as they won't need to sign us up to a 6 month contract since we are renting a property we hope to buy. My worry is that we are being encouraged into an arrangement that suits the EA and her relative but leaves us a bit vulnerable? If the restriction can't be lifted then we could be asked to leave at short notice, with no rights, as it would have been an informal arrangement (at least I think that is what is being suggested).0
