I phoned Dell today and they couldn't offer me free delivery on the 8400 as they said the price is very aggresive at the minute,he said he could have done me free delivery IF the system would have been full price but as there's a £117.50 off plus double memory upgrade PLUS 15in flat panel there was nothing he could do (I've placed orders for at least a couple of grand over the last few months with them too and they still couldn't budge on price - They wouldn't even upgrade the CDRW drive to CDRW/DVD combi FOC for me,this is worth £11.75 so it shows you just how tight they are pricing on this particular e-value code!!)

Just for your info,the 8400 is at end of life now as it's gonna be replaced by the 9100 series (Although this shouldn't take anything away from the VERY good deal that it is)

I'm just about to order one for somebody who's asked me to get him one at this price so if you're contemplating,grab one before Dell do their usual trick and change the price and/or specification!!

I'm not surprised they won't discount any further - this is an impressive spec for just £430! And it has upgrade possibilities for people who want faster graphics because it has a PCI-E slot (unlike the Dimension 3000 machines).
Shame I don't need one really - this is a great deal for people who want a decent mid-range pc with some future-proofing.

can someone please clarify what collect and return means. Do Dell collect and return for free or do you have to pay postage, I cannot see any information regarding this on the site

My understanding of C & R is that they pick it up and return it for free within the 1st 12 months.
