I'd already withdrawn from the sale and ended my contract with the estate agent at the same time, I'd had enough. He ruined my Christmas with his unexplained delays, constant chipping at the price with ridiculous quotes and his cringe worthy language of negotiation. I did contact the EA to let them know I'd sold to him, but I was out of contract so no fee due.£216 saved 24 October 20140

Was the auction more or less than 6 months after you ended the EA's contract?
If the EA introduced the buyer you eventually sold to, most EAs' contracts say you have to pay the EA a fee, if the sale occurs less than 6 months after the EA's contract ends.
But if your EA has agreed not to ask for a fee, that's great.

The EA were marvellous eddddy, they went through the mill with this buyer too. I was in such a state I'm not sure of the timescales, but they waived the fee and wished me good luck for the future.£216 saved 24 October 20140
