it takes next days entries at 3.10 so guess its done by then

There has been much discussion re. this previously and different incarnations of the comps may differ, but general opinion is that if you have not been called by 3:15-3:20 it is unlikely (but not impossible) that you have not been selected. The call is (most likely) recorded for editing before transmission but until it is played on the radio it could be possible that you might, just might, still be called.

The lines open for new calls at 3.10 so I think that it would not be legal to be making calls to a potential winner from 3.10. All I have read over the long running of this comp is that calls are made at about 3.05. On the odd occasion they call others following a non winning call there is plenty of time to do this before 3.10
