Creaking floors - replace chipboard with floorboards?

Afraid I don't know, I wasn't watching them do that part, it was T&G and somehow they got them up and then did a lot of screwing and gluing and stuff and now it's fine.tony3619 said:How did the guy remove the floorboards? They look like they are nailed down and would be a massive pain to uplift. I have a new build which also suffers creaky floors (not nearly as bad yet) so this is worth knowing.0 -

Fixed my squeaky stairs as well. Cost me a bit, but it's done now. Will see how it is after new flooring is put in.
Other rooms still have some movement walking on them, but not in a squeaky way, maybe that's just the nature of them. Just need people to stop STOMPING EVERYWHERE. I walk with the grace of a cat but other people seem unaware of their clomp clomp clomp.
if they are nailed down a way of getting them up is to cut around the nail and with a hole cutter and use a cats paw to hoik them up.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0
