Your best option was to reject it within the first 30 days under CRA2015 for a full refund or replacement. Unfortunately you have probably gone beyond that stage, as you accepted a repair.
All your statutory rights are with AO, none with Beko.
We haven't accepted a repair but AO said we have to deal with Beko. When I rung Beko they said an engineer has to visit to establish it being faulty and to see where we go next.
Perhaps I'll get in touch with AO again and see what happens!
If it were me I would get the engineer out to diagnose the fault but not repair it.  Then go back to AO with the proof of fault and reject the goods.  I would also be looking at another brand.

My mum only took delivery of it on Friday 5th February 2021 so it's been less than a week in her house.

You do not have to deal with Beko: your contract is with AO, not them. However, since it'll be Beko who do the repair, it's much quicker to deal with them direct.
Doing this does not take away your statutory rights with AO, which are mainly under CRA 2015. Your rights with Beko are limited to the terms of their own warranty.

As the engineer is coming in a few days, I'd let the engineer come, but I would then use the report to state it is faulty and reject it via the retailer for a full refund.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Thanks for all your advice.
I've had a conversation with AO and my mum is having a replacement washer dryer delivered on Saturday.
It took me a while to get my head around the Consumer Rights and thank goodness for this forum,  which showed me what I should have been doing from the beginning....... And no, it's not another Beko,  it's an Indesit (we've had one of these before). Thank you all once again
