Condensation on new front door

I wouldn't worry about it, it's your picture.northwest1965 said:grumbler said:Zoom itHowever, I do see some droplets on the vertical left side inside the door frame. That said, It's still normal for a frame to have worse thermal properties than a good cavity wall, but I'd expect the glass to be even colder and have condensation first.

What did they do?The inside has this sticky-out-profile trim covering the joint. What's on the outside - the same, or a flat trim? Did they remove either of them as part of their fix?

I didn't see what they did exactly, had to work. He did remove it completely though. The outer is flat. (Fitter said in 20years, he'd never seen one like it)Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0

Where have I 'told' NorthWest 'what to do'? Correct, I haven't.ytfcmad said:Well in that case stop telling people what to do and making out you know what you are talking about. You are not qualified , this is a money saving site, your ill informed recommendation to the OP in this thread alone could cost the OP dearly in a void guarantee or warranty based on your recommendations, not to mention the damage it can cause. What I did say was "Does condensation also form on the glass section? If not, that means the vertical PVC frame section is colder even than the glass - that's some going." I'm pretty sure that's correct. Yes? Is that helpful info?Followed by some tentative thoughts (I can only guess... In which case I guess... I'd hope it's this..'cos it' would be an easy cure.) as to a possible cause and possible cure, which at no point whatsoever amounted to me telling the OP to do anything. This is for the installer to sort, and not the OP.If the OP finds himself watching the installer trying to effect a repair which involves little more than standing there scratching his head in wonderment, could it be a useful contribution for the OP to ask "Is there a gap between the two panels? If so, could it be due to a lack of insulation in there?"I'm just giving the OP a possible cause. Helpful? That's for the OP to judge.
