I'd say a bit high. I'd be suspicious of a one day price and immediately assume there's more to come off. I've been looking and have had several quotes. 14 windows, composite front, UPVC back and french doors. Flush profile and a premium colour, £15k. Try this

You have to fill in details but they email you quotes from local companies almost instantly with no need to talk to anyone. I got in person quotes from two of them and the online ones weren't far off.

I would never go for anyone who offers you a quote for 1 day. Take your time, most give printed quotes that last 30+ days and often they will still honour the same price quoted a year later. Please make sure you get at least 3 quotes. I can recommend the R7 residence if you would like a flush casement and I don't think it costs too much more. I think the old style white upvc is starting to look dated.2

standard white casement , comp door and French . without knowing more well overpriced just by reading your spec . Like for like replacing metal frames brings up more questions about how the metal is set now and what you mention as like for like . Mug has pulled up a great point about R7 residence or similar flush casement in aluminium which are back to your original 12k quote . Prices for comp doors also differ greatly . not always in quality . I am currently fitting distinction doors that I can fit for half the price of a rockdoor . there has been a lot less problems after installation and a good as standard locking system a domestic householder needs . Rock door and companies that are national we've heard the stories , Think they can charge for the name . No longer true if you choose a reputable local firm from recommendations . you can make a great saving for similar or superior product . HTH . Flush fit sash in upvc are beginning to take off . the profile IMHO is still too fat to give that sleek look it should .

If a salesman says a 1day offer price then you know what to do - show him /her the door & get some one else to quote. As others have said prices on upvc windows & composite doors can range quite a lot depending on style & brand. I would get a couple of quotes 1 from one of the main 3 (Everest,Anglian & safestyle) these will be top prices then get a local company from your area that friends etc can recommend. Or use the trusted trader type websites. Best of luck

Once they have your number, they will be constantly ringing you even after you have had the windows replaced.Use a local independent installer, and you'll find they will give you a much better price and do a decent job.If you have old steel frames (Crittall ?), do have a check made to see if you currently have a lintel supporting the outer leaf of brickwork. On a lot of older houses, the frames were used to provide structural support to the brickwork above the window. In such cases, a lintel needs to be inserted or else you risk having the brickwork collapsing and causing the frames to bow.P.S. If you like the slim look of the existing frames, Crittall are still in business and produce a range of DG windows that are as good as uPVC. At a cost though...Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.3 -
If anybody says it's a one day only offer, tell them you have a permanent answer for them - Get out!

1 day offer!!!
Did you not get the, "I'll ring my boss for a show house discount".0 -
Hi, the quote will also depend on where about you are. Mug2007 is right, they shouldn't tell you that you have only one day to make the decision. A quote for Windows and doors should at least be available for 3 months. They have to give you time to think about it if you are not sure to go ahead. Where are you based ?0
