Refund policy on gift vouchers

I booked a gift voucher for an indoor sky diving experience for a Christmas present in November 2019, booked it for April 2020 but it was cancelled due to Covid-19. Due to the pandemic I have been unable to travel (Scotland to Manchester). The company said they would extend my vouchers until March 2021, I contacted them to ask for a refund instead of extending but they said they don't offer refunds, is this allowed?

It's allowed but given the current situation, I would keep negotiating to see if you can extend further.0
