Faulty carbon monoxide alarm and warranty

Bought new build home September 2016. Deta mains supply carbon monoxide alarm fitted as standard. Tested regularly. Stopped working March 2019. Contacted Deta, returned for testing as requested. Component failure so they sent new replacement. Stopped working again January 2021. Contacted Deta again. They say warranty is 5 years from "delivery of goods which in this case is the electrical wholesaler" which they say was 2015. Property not built until 2016. Literature with alarm says expectant life is 6 years. I have said this is unacceptable as 2 alarm units been defective now in 3 years 4 months. They refuse to replace siting it is out of warranty that they say started July 2015 and they could not just keep replacing every unit that stops working. Can anyone advise my rights on this and next steps please. Also to note they say the model us no longer sold but they do have some stock. Also told me I can order similar myself elsewhere.

You do not have any, your next step is to buy a replacement.

Warranty is not a right its an extra subject to any terms .
The law your Consumer Rights would be against the vendor .

A PS to that a recent gas inspection recommended replacing these type of alarms every four years as the element wears out ?

You don't have consumer rights in respect of fittings included in a house, even if it's a newbuild.
