EasyJet vouchers

I have along story which ends with us having an easyJet voucher for £1500. It is due to run out in august.
looking unlikely that we will be travelling before that. Any advice?
will they extend the voucher?
will we be forced to book flights for travel later in 2021 so we don’t lose them completely
dont suppose there is anyway to turn them into a refund?
what do people think?

Why didn't you request a full refund instead0

In the many identical threads
They will probably extend the vouchers.
That "may " swap them for a cash refund but it's very very unlikely as you accepted the voucher . You need to contact themEx forum ambassador

We had flights cancelled last july and were offered alternative flights / voucher plus £10 each additional voucher / full refund......far to many t&c linked to the vouchers so snapped their hands off for full refund even though it took a bit longer0

Is the story that EasyJet cancelled the flights (in which case you could have opted for a refund) or did you decide that you no longer wished to travel, or travel restrictions at your destination meant you could not travel there - and you took EasyJet up on an offer to have a credit against your original flights?0 -
it was the latter.
restrictions were such that travel was impossible for us but the easyJet flight still was operating at the time - we had booked a cruise starting in Barcelona and booked the flights separately-
easyhet only offered vouchers not a r3fund as the flight was still operating0 -

Yep, you weren’t entitled to anything so the vouchers were goodwill from EJ.You’ll need to use them or lose them0

The travel waiver/credit was a goodwill gesture by EasyJet. You unfortunately have no rights to convert this to a cash refund.
It is really important to be clear on the reason behind why the flight was not or could not be taken as different consumer options/right can apply. The earlier responses will I expect be because people thought the airline had cancelled the flight.
If the pandemic continues then EasyJet may (or may not) extend the validity of the credit but I doubt that they will make that decision until nearer the time. Again this would be ‘goodwill’ on their part if they do so.

Of course you can always use them to rebook a flight, and hope that that too is cancelled, and a new voucher offered if a cash refund is not an option.
If they're going to expire anyway, you'd have nothing to lose by doing that.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Thanks to all for your advice and wise words.
Whilst these are certainly unprecedented times there are learnings for us all in every circumstance
Thanks again0
