I'd agree for the more expensive areas in London; I think the cheaper you go the less likely it is to be nice. The vibe, for want of a better word, I think is somewhat different.100eyes said:
I personally like ex-LA flats, there are usually more spacious, and a lot of them have large windows in comparison to other older or period properties and purpose-build houses (not including new builds here) also I have a very limited budget. I have liven in a low rise council block in Camden for 3 years and it was a good experience.numbercruncher8 said:Down by the river it is pretty quiet, I think it is different from the worst bits of Newham. But as with most of London you won't have to travel far to find a rough bit.
That being said, IIRC the ex-LA flats are just ugly, and will always be the cheapest properties in the area. Personally I think adding value would be difficult - if you have the money for renovations why not just go for a different property that doesn't need them?
If it's been on sale 3 times in the past I would suspect it is either too hard to sell, perhaps because of price, or more likely too hard to buy - some lenders do not like it.
It's not the one for sale for £190k is it? If you don't need to live in this exact area I think widening the search area by around a mile would throw up some alternatives.3 -
Very interesting, thank you for the link!bex2012 said:
