Why would you want to? In a world of low interest rates theirs seem particularly awful. Put your money elsewhere.

If you mean the 'everyday saver', then it looks like you can only apply online if you already have an account with Barclays. Their website says
if you don't yet bank with us or prefer to talk, give us a call on 0345 744 5445 or visit your nearest branch

Puzzling. When you can easily get at least 50 (fifty!) times more interest elsewhere, why would you be interested in Barclays savings?

Open a virgin account (2.02%, up to £1k) and the linked savings account (0.50%) comes with it. They have other savings accounts too.

NatWest current account (0 interest), a savings builder (soon dropping to 0.25% up to £10k) and a regular saver (3% max £50pm)

0.01% can easily be beaten, have a look on the savings board and grab something a lot better.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.

Its more that myself and my brother need somewhere to place funds from our late mothers estate and rather than have to give each other our respective bank log ins thought it would be easier to set up a new savings account

I’m assuming you are looking for a joint savings account then? If so you would only be able to open that in branch with Barclays, which you won’t be able to do during the lockdown.

Is there a need for a savings account?  Why not just a current account ?
Barclays interest rates are so tiny there's almost no point in a savings account.
If you want proper joint access - i.e. an account in both names, you'll probably need to visit branch for most banks and most accounts, savings or current.
There might be exceptions though - a bank where you both bank already perhaps?

I agree it's best to keep the estate funds separate from your own, but I don't see the need for a savings account. If you already have probate / letters of administration you can open an executors account, although many banks don't appear to be doing them these days - as discussed over on the 'Death, funerals and Probate' board

I suspect the OP and brother are deliberately avoiding banks where one or the other already has online accounts as this would involve sharing existing online banking passwords etc.
Whereas with a completely separate bank and a new joint account the login details can be shared with impunity between the two..

If you want a joint account that you can open online, try Starling Bank.

Though, as per your other thread, an Executor account at your mother‘s bank might be more appropriate
