Faulty item - rights to return

Hi guys,
Last July I bought a ring from swarovski. Within the first 8 weeks, the enamel on the ring wore off and one of the crystals has fallen out.
I contacted them in October and they said to return it to store so it could be looked at but because of covid, it hasn't been possible.
I no longer have the receipt but it is on my bank statement. Can I use the statement for proof of purchase to return it?

    Return for repair ??
Why could it not have been posted back in October ? It would have been within the 6 months period .

Bank statement is acceptable as proof of purchase.
When you went back to them to say you couldn’t return in store because it wasn’t open, did they give you any other options instead? D you have proof as to when the fault happened - the longer it drags on the more chances you give them to avoid their liability.

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • They didn't. I asked if they had a returns address but they said it was fine to go back to store when they reopen but then mentioned it would need a receipt.
