Received this letter from M&S bank today

I had my first credit card with M&S bank when I was 18 (12 years ago). Missed payments and ended up going to collections with it. That was the start of my financial troubles.
I had paid off what I owed M&S bank many years ago but today I received this letter from them with a cheque attached to the amount of £50.
Has anybody else ever received something like this?

Yes, lots of people.
It's just a readjustment for a minor irregularity. All you need to do is cash it.0 -
Basically they did something wrong that was a minor fault, perhaps forgot to send you letters or whatever, they are chucking you some compo, cash it, move on, nothing else to do but enjoy your windfall.0
