Registering for premium bonds issue

Has anyone else had this issue?

i want to register online and then buy some premium bonds, for the very first time 

so I was going through the online form and it came up with an error...

You can only have one account of this type. Please make a deposit using your existing holder's or account number.


ive never ever registered with NS&I - not had any of their products - ever!


obviously their online chat is ‘busy’ for the rest of time..

Not that it solves your actual problem, but it makes sense to buy them late in the month anyway, as they won't be entered into the draw until April regardless of whether you buy now or on the 28th, so the money can perhaps earn some interest elsewhere for a few weeks....

Yes I am aware of that

just wanted to set the ball rolling and bung £25 in to get everything set up first

obviously NOTHING is ever straight forward...!
