Premium Bond Cash In - Does it have to be oldest first?

I was just about cash in some of my premium bonds - they indicate that they'll cash my oldest bonds first. I'm a bit upset, because these were bought for me when I was born by my grandfather. They only amount to a few pounds, but I've had them all my life and have even won a few prizes with them. Is there a way of choosing which bonds I cash in?

    Yes, as explained at https://www.nsandi.com/files/asset/pdf/premium-bonds-brochure.pdf

If you ask us to cash in online or by phone, we decide which Premium Bonds and Premium Bond numbers to cash in. We normally cash in your oldest Premium Bonds first. You can only ask which Premium Bonds to cash in by post.
