Unarranged overdraft

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me. We went on an unarranged overdraft last week of £25. This was only because I forgot to transfer money from the savings. We have never used any overdrafts before and we have been managing our account well by paying all the bills on time. This was the first time it ever happened. We have been approved for a mortgage and waiting for the searches to be completed. I am worried if this will affect our mortgage and it will go on the credit file. This was sorted straight away as my husband got paid the same morning. Normally his money comes first and then that particular bill goes after that but for some reason the money that came in was a bit late. I am not sure if I am overreacting but I am really worried if this will affect our mortgage. Thanks.

  • If is was resolved the same day, it's unlikely to appear.

    Thank you so much!!
  • It will only appear on you credit report if you were overdrawn when they report your account to the credit reference agencies. If you were overdrawn for a few hours before money went in then it won't get reported.

    Thank you!
  • The bank usually text or contact you to advise of something like this and if it was resolved the same day nothing will come of it

Thank you. We had a text message saying we went into an unarranged overdraft and we need to have enough money available by 2 pm but the money had come in already within an hour or two. We phoned the bank and they said it was all sorted but I was worried it will affect the credit rating because of the mortgage application.
