Hello all, I have done some reading but I would like a bit of guidance on this please.
I received a parking fine 8 months ago where I parked overnight on a car park and didn't see the parking sign. Looking at the parking sign after it was not a pay and display it was if you stay over the time limit you receive a fine. The car park was empty and in no way was my parking a hindrance. At the time I googled the letter and I read to ignore this and that these parking companies do not have the power. It was not a council one as I would have paid that straight away.
I have had a few letters since and each time I have googled the letter and found it was just another division of the company sending 'false threats' and the advice online was to ignore.
I had not received anything for a couple months but recently I received a letter (please see images) and I am not sure what I need to do now? I have blacked out sensitive info etc and the companies name and who sent this letter, but if you advise i am safe to name this I can. Just being cautious as I am aware they look on these sites.
I would be very grateful of any help. Thank you.

LBC letters are covered in post 2 of the newbies FAQ sticky thread near the top of the forum
Does it give 30 days notice or 14 days notice ??
It was not a fine , at no time did that word come up in your paperwork , it's a PCN , an invoice
Name the parking company and the name on those letters if different
Of course parking companies can enforce private parking charges , the law changed over 8 years ago in 2012 , with POFA , and the Barry Beavis case was 6 years ago , Google it , Google his case
Parking companies issue tens of thousands of court claims every year , so your research was poor , wiith foolish results1 -
Thank you for your reply.
It gives me 30 days to either pay or reply to the notice.
The parking company is Smart Parking LTD and the letter is from CST Law0 -
My issue here is do I have grounds to appeal this for my reason of parking on a car park in the early hours of the morning and staying over the time or should I just pay it?

30 days notice is a proper LBC and so you should follow the advice in post 2 of the newbies FAQ sticky thread near the top of the forum
Email a SAR to the DPO at Smart , with a copy of the V5C log book as proof of I D under the GDPR law
Reply to CST law telling them to place the matter on hold for 30 days pending you obtaining debt management advice
Also read the CST letters group thread on here too , plenty of specific advice in that thread , plus many more CST law threads on here , dozens of them
This would have been an easy win for you if you had come here when the postal NTK PCN arrived , 2 easy appeals and it would have been over with months ago , an easy win at Popla , but not in Court1 -
Thanks a lot,
I parked on the car park at the time as I was visiting a family member (personal reasons) and used the car park as it is a 30 second walk from where they live.
In your opinion, is this any reason for appeal? Or should I just pay the fine
Thank you

It is not a fine, what did you not understand in Red's post. Have you complained to your MP?You never know how far you can go until you go too far.2

Also, the original fine from smart parking ltd was £70 (i think, will need to double check). But now this is £170. If i was to pay, am I right to ask to pay the £70?
Thank you0 -
It is not a fine why do you keep calling it a fine? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read THE newbies, all/most of your questions are answered there. Asking these questions is a waste of our time. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.2

Sorry my mistake for referring to as a fine, this is all new to me.
I understand you guys get frustrated with this but it is easy when you have all the knowledge. I have come on here for help and have been polite at all times, you are coming across rude and I am fearful to ask questions. I thought this was a site to get help.

you are coming across rude
I( do not think so, but if we are it is because YOU will not read the newbies, this is a self help forum and you are not helping yourself. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
