Gers thank you for sending that link I phoned the berevement team and council but both refused us any help, they said that fund is basically for homless people with no family at all, I was crying down the phone and begging for help but they would not budgePlease see my PM. It's such a dreadful time for you, not made any easier by the council.I've been out and it's freezing cold, think it's the wind turning the heavy rain really cold. My Oz chat was lovely again, mostly I listen as the three-way chat is fairly difficult, still, it's good to hear the gossip from family and friends so far away. Wearing ear buds makes it more bearable. My financial bullet has been bitten, I've ordered a new laptop though there's about a two week lead in time, seems that there's a severe shortage of chips, the effects of lockdown no doubt. This laptop is really struggling to stay in one piece as the huge crack gets slightly bigger each time I use the machine, it's creaking away like an unoiled door.Right, off to weigh out the ingredients for my cake.

Afternoon everyone
I've been to work this morning and got soaked coming home on my bike. It's an awful day here - windy, cold and pouring with rain. I'm planning a lazy afternoon with my book but I'll need to ring my dad first to do his banking.
I had major dental work on Wednesday and have suffered since - I now have antibiotics which will hopefully help.
Hope everyone is having a good day

Afternoon all.
Still doing crochet here - really need to work through my stash. Finished another Birthday present - again a bright one as my Dil loves colours..
Not sure if I posted a photo of this poncho - fits a 2 - 3 year old - I hope - difficult when staying indoors so no chance to see children to gauge size. I am trying to get togethermakes ready to raise funds for The Salvation Army when we are out of lockdown. My local SA have a monthly coffee morning ( pre Covid) to socialise and raise funds.

Afternoon - dp1 - I hope your discomfort soon eases. Has you dental surgeon told you to use corsodyl mouthwash? Mine did and it certainly helped.Florence - your work takes me right back to the early 70s when I crocheted myself a poncho in mustard and off white!
Mine also had tassles which I was particularly proud of.
My cake-making efforts are being severly hampered by DM's ancient hand mixer and my lack of patience with it. It struggles with even butter and sugar so I've dug out her not as ancient though still elderly Kenwood Classic stand mixer. I've even found the instructions. When searching for the instructions I also came across DM's receipt for her still in use Hotpoint washing machine, this is dated 1987. In the same pile is the receipt for the Pfaff sewing machine dated 1957. All very MSE! I'll try with the stand mixer tomorrow.Still pouring down here, not quite as bad as yesterday but bad enough.

FLORENCEEM I crocheted similar ponchos for my DD when she was a toddler and then again for my DGDs when they were toddlers. Sadly I have no-one to make them for now. Btw I love the lilac and white combination of yours.
RUBY I hope the grant is soon passed and then it's one less worry for you. Life is treating you pretty shabbily just now xx
