What's a style pipe? The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

Which brake pipe(s)? Will the calipers/disks/pads all turn out to be knackered, too?
Where's the fuel pipe? It might be two seconds work, it might be tank out. Tank out may involve exhaust off, possibly even rear subframe.0 -
Why not get a a quote from a garage?

A 2005 focus you should get at least a £100 scrap value? if repair costs are expensiveThe world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0 -
More information needed.Rear brake pipe. Is it the short flexi hose that goes from the caliper which can be bought for a few pounds and bolted in? Or is it part of the fixed pipe where the garage will have to fabricate their own piping and mate it in?0

impossible to say without knowing exactly what needs replacing and how easy it is to access. am assuming you can't do it yourself so i would get two quotes, one from a company like national tyres, f1, kwikfit etc. they do jobs like this all day long and have various offers/vouchers/promotions on their websites. the other quote from a local small garage or mobile mechanic.
apart from catastrophic engine failure i can't see any good reason to scrap a 2005 focus"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson1 -
Thanks, it's a great little diesel car and well worth repairing. These faults were advisories on the last mot. It's going in for new mot on Monday so I asked for this to be done at the same time. I just wanted a ball park figure. If I bought another used car to replace it, it may have expensive problems of its own. I have kept this car well maintained and I think it has a few more years in it0

I would see what pops up on new MOT before getting a possible quote to do any work."The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0

It's worth keeping the car and repairing it, bearing in mind that it's probably not going to be that expensive. Dependent on condition and mileage the car will be worth £1,000+. Just for fun: I predict the Mk1 will be the next Ford to become classic; the much maligned, in their day, late Escorts already have and they don't have the Focus's design cachet or place in the public affection. If yours is a Mk1 it might be worth more in a couple of years, rather than less.1
