Insurance issues

I've had a few problems with my motorcycle and caravan insurance companies.
Unfortunately, I had a fire at my property. One of my motorbikes had an electrical fault which caused fire damage to; my other motorcycle, garage and contents plus caravan.
The motorbikes and caravan was declared write offs.
I was informed I had to independently claim from; motorcycle insurance, buildings and contents plus caravan policies. Each of which I had to pay my policy excess.
The buildings and contents insurance have been absolutely perfect. Extremely professional and efficient. Can I recover my £250 policy excess due to the fact the motorbike caused the fire. It was a third party (my motorbike) which caused the caravan damage?
My caravan and motorbike insurance companies have been anything but helpful.
Firstly my motorbike insurance: I originally raised the claim via Carol Nash (my motorbike insurance company) who then directed me directly to a broker (Ageas) they then referred my to another broker (4th D). After a few days the motorbikes were recovered by a salvage company (Copart) who turned up at my property and initially stated they couldn't collect the bikes owing to the damage and where they were within my property. I was then contacted by another salvage team who said they would collect the motorbikes. After a few more days Copart collected them. The other salvage company called to confirm a date with me. By this time this bikes had gone. I made a call back to Ageas who then told me me claim had nothing to do with their company. I contacted 4th D who have taken on the claim for the second time said the process will have to start again and I will be added to the list.
I feel I have been unfairly treated by Carol Nash, Ageas and 4th D.
This has been 1 of my 3 insurance claims and at one pint felt it would be easier to forget claiming altogether.
My next issue is with my caravan insurance company (The Insurance Emporium). They have been very tardy with my claim. Stating I need proof of purchase. I explained the documents were destroyed in the fire and can only show photographic evidence of the amount I paid. They caravan was pictured at the dealership with the price in the window. The photo was date stamped. They price in the window £5999 was more than I actually paid £5400.
I have endeavored to contact the dealership who have since ceased trading and my bank who can't see the cash withdrawal at the time of purchase.
I have owned the caravan for 6 Yrs and insured it via The Insurance Emporium for at least the last 2 of those yrs.
I find it extremely unfair I was allowed insurance on my caravan (paying my premium for this time) but now I have unfortunately had to claim they are being less than helpful. They were more than happy to take my wors for it I owned it when I took the policy out.
I'm not a seasoned professional at insurance claims. In fact quite the opposite. Is this acceptable the manner I have been treated by these insurance companies?
Also, do I have to pay all these policy excesses? (£250 building and contents £300 caravan) Surly I just pay my excess for the motorbike which caused the damage??!
Any help with these issues would be grateful.
Kind regards,
Martin Gardner. (Strong Christian name!)

(Strong Christian name!)You need to submit 3 separate claims, your motorbike insurance will not cover damage to your own property or your caravan, as you are not a third party.0

I'm not asking my motorbike insurance company to cover my Building or Caravan. I have already claimed off individual policies. I'm asking if I'd be within my rights to recover the excess.
Eg. If someone crashes into your car and your car cause damage to you property and caravan. You will have to claim of your insurance and then once the fault of the person who has caused the damage has taken the liability you will be able to recover your excess.

You cannot claim from yourself, so no, your idea will not work.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1

Your motorbike insurance covers your liability to *other people*. In other words, money that someone else could sue you for if you damaged their property by riding it carelessly.
It does not cover liability to yourself. Indeed, you have no liability to yourself for it to cover - because you cannot sue yourself for damaging your own property.
So no, you can't claim from your motorbike company for damage to your house (including for your excess).1 -
To try and reclaim your excess would effectively be suing yourself which is a fools errand as you are both claimant and defendant.
The only way to recover your excess, and it would be from all three policies, would be to show that the fire was the fault of someone else but then you'd be pursuing them not your Motorbike policy. I assume however you've already accepted that no external party was responsible for the fire.0 -
