Pushchair faulty after 1 year

Hi.. I have a mamas and papas pushchair and the cable has snapped  so unable to fold down after 1 just over a year. Purchased Dec 2019. It was purchased from precious little ones..now gone in to administration. Also purchased via PayPal with credit card. ( Now now to pay directly with credit card. 

Question is would I be able to get help from credit card as company unable to fix/repair, or from mamas and papas manufacturers warranty. On their website it's two years of purchased directly from them. 
Pushchair is from birth to 4 years so there is a good expectation it would last that long. 

Are you able to help.

If the manufacturers warranty is only when purchased direct from mamas and papas, then that would be a no go.

If you purchased via paypal using a credit card, then you have broken the link, so unlikey any assistance there. If there was, then you may still be expected to gain a report highlight the cable snapped due to an inherent fault.

You of course have a potential  claim against the retailer. Again a report would probably be required and the administration would deal with. Likely to get a few pence in the pound back if successful as would be very low on the list of creditors.

No harm in contacting mamas and papas, and if no joy, trying the credit card. If you don't try you'll never know! Just don't get your hopes up.

M&P will repair the pushchair for a fee:

In the event a product is outside of your guarantee period we will endeavour to repair or replace parts subject to availability. The charges outside of the warranty period for pushchairs, strollers and travel systems are a minimum of £50/ €80 for parts, labour, administration and handling per product. In the unlikely event that the costs of parts, labour, administration and handling costs exceed £50/€80 you will be required to pay the excess amount.

but depending on how easy it is to replace the cable, it might be worth seeing if you can buy a replacement and do it yourself or get someone you know to fit it for you.
