Changing Sky broadband to BT broadband - will it affect Sky TV?

Sorry if this is a silly question but I don't understand it generally and I'm seeing mixed answers. If I switch my Sky broadband to BT broadband will I be able to keep my Sky TV package exactly as it is? And how do I go about sorting this? Can never get through to Sky, will BT just sort it all? Thanks in advance

Won't affect your Sky TV. Assuming that you are out of min.term for broadband then BT will handle the switchover and all you will get is a "sorry you are leaving" comm. from Sky, possibly with a retention offer.0

Above what happens with recording Sky TV as BT will be the BB provider .

The only thing it might affect is the cost - do you, for example, get any discount from Sky for having both TV and BB from them?0

It wont affect anything. The sky tv is completely independent of the broadband (other than appearing on the same online bill) Your bill to sky will reduce as the broadband element will be taken off.
As has been said, make sure your broadband contract is finished first, otherwise you may be stung with an early repayment charge if you are still within contract.
Use of sky tv will be exactly the same as long as you have broadband coming into the house. The recordings will be unaffected, catchup services will be fine.
Only in the early days of adsl when sky introduced broadband did sky insist on sky customers using sky broadband to access catchup/ondemand....this has long since stopped.1 -
If you have Sky Q then any mini boxes can act as wifi hotspots, but only if Sky is your ISP. If you are using this facility at the moment then I guess you'll lose it.0

Switching will not affect your Sky TV/SkyQ etc., but instead of switching, why not try haggling with Sky. In my experience, this gets excellent results - particularly if you are threatening to leave. We halved our bills for the sake of one 30 minute phone call - saved £200/yr. You eventually get passed to Customer Retention who are empowered to make some really good deals. Be polite and friendly, but by all means, if they don't come to the party, then vote with your feet. Don't worry - as the previous post has commented, SkyQ/Sky+HD, etc., will work with any ISP and any Router provided you connect correctly. BUT ***MOST IMPORTANT*** if you do get a new router or even on your existing one plus any extenders - please - change the WiFi passwords if you can - particularly if you live in high-density accommodation such as a block of flats. Use a complex one that consists of at least 12 characters that are a mix of letters and numbers. Most ISPs use a limited span of passwords which are freely available on the dark web.
