Insurance for a cat that had cancer

Morning - I'm looking to adopt a cat and I've found one that would be suitable for my home but has recovered from cancer.

I was wondering how easy such an animal would be to insure? I've had a brief look online but can't see anything clear. I assume it's classed as a pre-existing condition?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated - don't want to get too invested too early!

Pet insurance only has a simple sales process and so has a blanket exclusion for any illness/injury etc that the animal has had (or symptoms of having) prior to you buying the policy. 

So if the cat has had liver cancer then its likely any future claims for cancer or liver damage (unless due to a physical accident) would be likely to be declined. Unlike insurance for humans there arent the options of going through medical screening and paying additional premiums to cover pre-existing.

Never asked about if there is existing insurance that pre-dates the condition if that could transfer to the new owner of the animal but get the feeling that wouldnt be relevant in this case anyway.

You will be able to insure for any condition not related to the cancer  but anything than can be related to the cancer will be excluded.
Have a look at Bought by Many. they have a policy which will give limited cover to pre existing conditions. Whether they would cover a cancer diagnosis I don't know but  it might be worth contacting them.
