Right to a refund for a postponed event?

I am looking for some advice if anyone can help please, I purchased a ticket for a convention in France that was supposed to happen last year. Due to the pandemic it was postponed. As of last night it has now been postponed 3 times. After the first postponement we were given a period during which to ask for a refund, believing that the pandemic would be a short term thing I didn't ask for a refund and intended to attend the event on the revised date. However, now after the 3rd postponement I no longer wish to attend the convention so would like an immediate refund. I have been in touch with the convention company who say I have no right to an immediate refund and must accept a voucher which if not used will be refunded in 2022. I also have to send proof that I cannot attend. After every postponement there seems to be a change to their terms and conditions.
So I was wondering if anyone can tell me what my rights are please, am I entitled to a refund baring in mind that due to the change of date etc the convention is no longer the same as I originally purchased my ticket for or do I have any consumer rights etc??
Thanks in advance!

    Event in France .
First question has to be who/where did you buy the ticket from .
UK supplier or French supplier .

  • It was a French company, People Conventions.

So, almost certainly French law will apply. You'd be better finding somewhere which advises on French law.

Thanks, I thought that would turn out to be the case!
