The scheme only covers replacement windows if those you have are single glazed. If you already have double glazing, irrespective of age or condition, you can't use the scheme to replace them. Additionally windows are classed as a secondary measure - they'll only pay up to the value they pay towards a primary measure - insulating and installation of new eco heating. You can click the links - the companies will only call you if you fill in a form and give them your phone number. (assuming you went through the official site here:
The scheme pays two thirds of the costs up to a maximum voucher value of £5000 (so to get that much you'd be paying out £2500 yourself). From my own experience searching for insulation, some of the suppliers on the scheme are vastly increasing their prices to milk the scheme. I'd encourage you to explore quotes with suppliers accepted by the scheme, AND good local tradesmen (NOT safestyle or other big nationals) - talk to friends and neighbours, see who they used and would recommend. I expect you'll find getting windows installed by a tradesman not covered by the scheme would work out about the same price, without the need to be investing in a primary measure if you don't need to.1
