Buying next to commercial property - thoughts?

I'm looking at buying my first home. Not a lot on the market right now but there is one good house that's been listed for close to 6 months. It's on a dead end road with some commercial properties (warehouse/garage type things) for an antiques business and a costume business, so not a takeaway, pub or anything that generates that much noise.
The house is adjacent to the costume shop garage, although there is a kind of alley that separates the buildings.
I'm not too keen as I'm concerned about change of use, and it being a bit undesirable due to the street not being fully residential, but my partner wants to put in a cheeky offer (providing the lender isn't a no go) considering the time it's been on the market. The house would be good if located on a 'normal' road. What are your thoughts? Would you be put off buying a house like this?
Any experiences?

Depends on the likelihood of anything happening - it sounds like the most likely change of use would be to residential, which wouldn't be a "bad neighbour" though you might not fancy having a block of flats overlooking you or being next to a building site while it's redeveloped. I'd be more concerned in a "high street" scenario where e.g. relatively quiet shops can turn into a take away or pub.0

Yeh, the thought had crossed my mind that it might because a block of flats at some point. I suppose if it's off putting to me it's likely off putting to other buyers too, they've not had any offers in 6 months apparently.0

I've known of mortgage applications being declined because the property was in a 'non-residential area', too. It might be an idea to check this out before you go ahead.0

Yes, I will cheque with the broker/lender first. It's a bit of a funny street as it's residential on 1 side and then commercial on the other side and at the end of the cul de sac.0
