My comments above. It's quite likely that your score has changed in reaction to the search by Capital One appearing on your history (not all events are registered immediately). But all that will show up is a search - the result is not recorded.amapofthepiano said:Experian sent me an update on my score that has gone down by 115 =\ is this one of those occasions where i have to remind myself that credit score isn't really a thing? Yes - your score is meaningless, it's not seen by any lender. did this happen because of the rejection from Capital One? No, it's changed because the weather is getting a bit warmer.

Yes remind yourself it isn’t a thing. It might be through the capital one rejection, it might not. It might be because it was cold last week, or that it’s due to rain on Monday. Be patient it might go up 242 points next month. What I’m saying is - as long as the info is accurate - don’t worry about it. I know you’ve got some work to do to improve your history but don’t panic about movements in the score.amapofthepiano said:Experian sent me an update on my score that has gone down by 115 =\ is this one of those occasions where i have to remind myself that credit score isn't really a thing? did this happen because of the rejection from Capital One? I didn't do anything else that could have done this (i think) =\1 -
Capital One got back to me after i sent them all of my documents to prove to them that i'm a legitimate person and they rejected me again due to the low credit score =\ I knew UK loves vicious circles like that (can't rent a place with no local bank account but can't get a bank account without proof of address etc) but that's just....annoying. I guess i'll try again in 6 months.0

Sorry to hear this. My advice to you now is going to be to sit back and wait 6 months before trying again.
In the past, such tactics have worked, as referenced here in various threads.💙💛 💔1
