Parkingeye LBCCC Machine not working

Hi all,
I probably should have sought advice here sooner!
I got a parking fine from PE Barking shopping centre. I tried to pay at the machine (pay on exit) but it was not working so I took a video to show this and left. I got a fine and my appeal was rejected (due to lack of information!) despite sending the video.
I then received a letter before county court claim. So I emailed the enforcement team to try and explain again and offered them the original parking amount owed. They refused and are asking for £100. I firmly believe I did nothing wrong so what should I do? Let it go to court or do they have a legitimate case?
Thanks!

It is not a fine, please read the newbies. Also google "frustration of contract" and complain to your MP. and the landowner.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.1 -
Have you contacted the retail park and showed them your video and ask them to intervene?
I would have thought the video will be very useful evidence in any court claim. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Can you show us the video as well? Host it on youtube for example
WHen yuo say they refused, what reasons did they give?
I would point out strongly that any claim they had that money was owed is either
- negated, because the machine refused to take payment and so modified any alleged contract
or
- frustrated, as the method of payment you could use was not operating.2 -
Send the video to the BPA and complain about ParkingEye if this was the only machine, no-one could have paid and nor would they find out the machine wasn't working until they went to leave, so all cars would have been sitting gucks.
