Electric induction hob protector do they exist?

Use a silicon trivet or mat, even a tea towel. My hob feels hot for a short while, but the heat dissipates very quickly."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0

Put a plate/pan/tea towel on it. Whatever is handy, really. No need to buy anything specially for it. It's only for seconds/ a minute maybe.0

Actually probably not a tea towel or you may find a cat curled up on it enjoying the heat!0

What did you do in the previous house? Induction hobs cool far faster than any other hob type I am aware of. Yes if you have been boiling something for some time the glass is hot from the transferred heat, if that bothers you as has already been suggested put the pan back on the (switched off) hob with some cold water in it if you wish.kenneth77 said:Weve just moved and got a electric type induction hob. Not sure what it's technically called but after use it remains hot for a few mins. We have cats and they have jumped in there a few times, now I don't want them to burn their paws obviously I know its far from ideal them jumping on thr kitchen counter but will have to deal with that another time is there any sort of protector I can put over the hob while it's warm incase they do it again?! I've just amazon but can't find anything?

Probably an unpopular opinion, so apologies in advance - letting your cats jump onto kitchen worktops is just rank. But then I can’t stand cats. I would just stop the cats jumping up. Or get a dog, it won’t jump on your worktop. 😁Sorry.0

I tend to agree, but I don't think you can "let" a cat do anything, they tend to be their own boss and short of chaining an iron ball to their feet you're not going to stop a cat from jumping anywhere.Swasterix said:Probably an unpopular opinion, so apologies in advance - letting your cats jump onto kitchen worktops is just rank. Yep- I take your point, although contrary to what many cat owners will have you believe, it is possible to train a cat. It’s more difficult than training a dog, but it’s possible. But then I guess the reason why many (not all) people get cats, is that they don’t have the time/patience/inclination or are to lazy to train. Why else would one chose a cat over a dog? 😁neilmcl said:

FAO Cat lovers - Please don’t shout at me. I have no desire to get in to a cat love/hate debate. They rarely end well. My tongue is (partially) in my cheek.0
