ALERT ! Alarm for the very sick people....android app or gadget ????

Hi All,
Hope everyone is great and well ???
I have been very very unwell , seriously ill since last 11 months and fall over, unsteady on my feet, bang my head, can move much, liver problems, kidney problems, blood disorders ,etc etc, cervical spine problems,  (too many might not fit here...hahaha)
I was wondering if any of you know of any android app or a gadget (cheap'ish) i can have with me which will instantly inform my wife to rush and help me ?? Once i am on the floor i could stay on the floor for hours and hours until i gain a tiny bit of strength to stand up. I cant eat food so i am on protein supplements 3 times a day.  Its just that my wife is so so so worried that while she is at work anything could happen to me and she wouldn't know in case i am unable to reach the phone, so she suggested if we can find any android app or a gadget which can send her an immediate alarm.
I thank you all and wish you to hear from anyone...
Kind Regards
AK

Yes - use the Aid Call panic button that you wear on your wrist or like a neckless .  From Age UK or Social Services.

There are panic button and fall safety apps available, but you would need to have your phone on you, or wear a linked smart watch.

Have a search for them and try them out.

Otherwise it would need to be an actual panic button that you wear around your wrist or neck.

There are many out there. You don't say your age so I won't insult you by just linking to 'Elderly' alarm systems, although, they would suit...

Some mobile phones have an SOS system on them that is initiated by a gesture or button press.

agreed. Many assume elderly right away. Another option for anyone looking is linking a mobile phone to smart speaker/devices in the house allowing calls to be made by voice.

Presumably you arent going out the house and garden so you are probably better looking at products targeted at the elderly. It may be worth considering getting something with fall detection so if you fall and are unconscious it will automatically send an alert. These normally go to a contact centre and they have instructions of what to do and can be a decision tree so if your wife doesnt answer they call an ambulance or such.

I dont know about the Android environment but the Apple Watch has fall detection and I'm sure Ive seen apps you have that have widgets so you can do a prescribed action (eg send a text) via the homescreen.
  • hi all,
i thank you for all your suggestions. By the way i am only 46.  I do not wish to give alert to the ambulance or police , all i need to do is inform my wife and she'll take of the rest. I do have the phone with me ALL the time even in toilets and showers etc.. i thought though if anyone knew any android app that would just alert her. I do thank you you all but i will try and contact the right people. Now they say i might have liver cancer...hahahahahha...not much to live for, isnt it ?....but i thank you all for your advise and suggestions....God Bless

OP, contact your local council - usually social services. You can get fall detection pendants that will automatically alert the council you have fallen. They try and contact you, and if that doesn't work they can then contact your nominated person or the authorities, whichever you prefer. They cost about £4 a week, but worth their weight in gold for people who may fall alone.
