I would appreciate any comments regarding this and how do I find out if this Bank is safe to put money into?

Smartsave is a trading name of Chetwood Financial Ltd. You can look them up on the FCA website.

If you are in any doubt, phone the real Chetwood using the number on the register and confirm the bank transfer details.

According to MSE, the real Smartsave and Chetwood share the £85K FCA protection.
