Solar panels and help to buy?

Hi fellow savers,
I wanted to get some general advice. Can you install solar panels on a property you bought using help to buy equity loan (not paid off yet).

Their website says the following.

Decorating, kitchen/bathroom re-fitting, solar panel installation or window replacements are not considered home improvements and are permitted without our approval.

But the above is under the heading

Conduct Home Improvements

Adapting your home for a disability.

All of it is really confusing. Who would install solar panels for a disability?

Are they allowed? I have spoken to two people in the HTB helpline one has said yes the other has said no. So confusing.

    Any advice on this?
I have slightly different issue - ai have “Help to Buy” and recently installed solar panels and Tesla PowerWall 2, and solar panels and the battery are owned by my company
So, if I decide to move, I would probably need to dismantle the solar panels and the battery as they do not belong to the house
Will they considered when evaluating the house price when I decide to pay off Help to Buy? They are property of my company
    Thanks
  • Correct me if I’m wrong but they say you can add solar panels. I would assume though only if owned outright and not the ‘rented’ variety

Couldn't you just ask for their approval? I can't see the harm even if it turns out that you didn't need to ask them. Get the answer in writing, and then you're covered.
