House sale: I can't locate my ex

Hello forum members,
I have a property that was bought with my ex partner in 2006. He left the country and we separated in 2008. I want to sell the house, and severe my financial ties with him. I have been solely responsible for the upkeep of the house, and for the mortgage payments. However, I can't seem to locate him via social media - perhaps he has blocked me. How can I trace him? And if I can't find him, what happens? How can I force the house sale? thanks in advance.

    If you can't find him through social media then you could use a tracing agent such as Finder Monkey, others are available.  What has your solicitor advised so far?

    As above, use a tracing agent. Haven't you discussed with your solicitor?

    It's interesting you say he won't agree to sell..... Which I guess would mean if he did he would want his 50% (which you say you agreed to on purchase)

    You need legal advice. All of the below complicates it

    * Absent owner
    * Relationship breakdown
    * 50/50 ownership
    * He will refuse a sale of found
    * You don't want him having 50% equity (understanble but not that simple)
    * How much did he put in initially as deposit?

    You need a solicitor

    Do you have any starting points as to which country/ies he may be in?
     Do you have any mutual friends who may be able to help?
    And if I can't find him, what happens? How can I force the house sale?
    It'd be down to a court order.

    Is he a foreign national? if so, start in his country of origin. Though, 12 years on, it may not be easy.

    What avenues have you used to trace your ex other than social media?

    Thanks am in the process of getting a solicitor, to sort this out. He only brought his debts into as a deposit, which am paying off as part of an unsecured loan. So no deposit.

    I was not aware there were tracing agents, hence why I asked the question.
