Credit search in short space of time

Options
I purchased a 2nd hand car through a national dealership, I took out my own finance.
Within 30 days, the car developed issues, following independent assessment, the faults were known at point of sale, thus, I rejected the car through my finance company.
Long story short, the dealership now have the vehicle, and finance has been settled.
My question is, given the finance company completed a credit search prior to approval, as I need another car, I'm going to have to make another credit application.
I assume having another credit search in a short space of time (December 2020) will affect my credit rating, in turn, may affect the interest I pay.
Is there anything I can do to show the reason for another credit search in a short space of time, I don't see why I should be penalised for something that wasn't my fault.
