Well done for getting in the teens.
Would love to visit Scotland, have never been. When I get a camper van hopefully.Without overpayments: 15 years, 1 monthsBecause of overpayments: 10 years, 10 months left until paid off1 -
Been AWOL for a bit as work has been frantic with getting in grades etc but finally seems to be a little better. We're now allowed to do practical lessons again so that's been better but exhausting. We're all out of the routine, the students and myself. We've made a lot of cupcakes and tomato pasta and the older students have cremated all sorts of things, they're very out of practice.
I've made £1062.75 worth of overpayments to the mortgage so we're just over £18 300 now. The maths says that'll take us to July next year to pay off if I don't figure in the interest which is later than I wanted, hopefully I can throw some more money at it after the holidays.
It might be controversial but we've decided we're going abroad, hopefully we won't have to isolate coming back but if we do we're working around it. So lots going into that fund now.
I'll hopefully get time today to read through other people's diaries again, I just need to decide what my students can burn next week.Mortgage Free 23 December 2020

I've felt myself 'slipping' a bit over the last month and a bit, so today I balanced YNAB and had £35.71 spare. I added 29p from the groceries budget and paid £9 into each of my priorities, mortgage, long term savings, holiday savings and 'emergency' immediately available savings. I had stopped always splitting any extra these four ways and confess t was all just going into holiday funds. I must be strict with myself, I need to make £6 000 and some in overpayments to meet this year's £15 000 target.Mortgage Free 23 December 2020

Not much to report about this week, we're in what seems like a holding pattern until the end of term now. I haven't spent anything on extra food or things this last week at all. Did the shopping yesterday all at lidl as our fruit and veg men on the market where away and it came in at £30 and that included quite a few cleaning products, we did have a few fruit and veg bits left though as I bought extra last week, we were late and they were wanting to go home so 3 melons for a pound etc. We've got loads of meat in the freezer so hopefully I can shift the extra £40 from the budget into the savings' pots.Mortgage Free 23 December 2020

Another freebie at the market this morning, a bag of mushrooms this time. Can't complain they'll definitely become part of something soon. We've bought some flea treatments to take over to the stray cat carer in Corfu, they'll come out of the charity budget. I've been saving a bit extra in here every month for this and we'll also buy her some cat food if we get near a bigger supermarket to help with feeding them. Just have to hope that it all comes together and we can get there now.Mortgage Free 23 December 2020

I haven't updated my mortgage worm for a bit. I had five segments to colour in so another £5000 paid off. Not quite as much as I had hoped but the holiday habit has bitten into a little. We're still overpaying by around £1200 a month though so doing okay. It looks like the plane is flying tomorrow and we'll be on it!Mortgage Free 23 December 2020
