For the last 24 hours, whenever I open chrome after having left it for a little while, the last page I've viewed has been forwarded onto a junk website. Standard clickbait and get rich quick stuff.
I've not, to my knowledge installed any new apps recently, and have had a look through the apps and don't see anything suspicious (although there are quite a few). There are no suspicious device admin apps either, and I wouldn't let that happen.
This isn't the chrome notifications - I've checked that no website has permissions to do that, and when that's happened in the past, the notifications come up on the lock screen, rather than just the last website I looked at being forwarded on.
Any clues for what might get rid of this annoyance? A full restore of the phone to a week ago is an option, but I'd rather not go to the hassle when there's probably a two-click solution.
Thanks,

Maybe overkill but I always do a full backups and factory reset if anything like this happens on my phone, tablet or pc as some of these nasties are good at hiding.
So easy to do these days and a good chance to clear some junk."The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0
