Reina luna towel rail

hi we are looking to replace a towel rail that has some significant rusting. I think the reina luna in stainless steel looks good. We will need straight valves because the pipes come out the floor. I cant find any that match or are stainless steel. Do people use chrome plated ones on stainless steel radiators, or can you get ones that match. Many thanks

ps any views on the reina luna?

  • Polished SS? How much different is that to chrome finish? (I don't know).

Is there a builders merchants with bathroom display areas nearby you can visit for a look?

(Did the old rad rust from the outside or in?)

Polished stainless is far superior to chrome, never seen a chrome item last more than a few years when hanging wet towels on. Manufactures offer no surface warranty so if you want fit and forget SS it has to be . Reina are European made and the latest have nice detailing to tops to cover vents

You wont see quality like this in a builders showroom, sold via specialist radiator shops only

When we fit we just use chrome radiator valves, not that much difference in appearance once bathroom is used and finish dulls

I think it’s just outside. Not leaking.
  • Here a couple of photos. From underneath so odd angle. You only see it if you are underneath.

Thank you. I didn’t want to get the wrong ones. Will get a plumber to fit it but they normally ask us to get the radiator and valves.
  • Blimey - that's rust indeed!

Good to have confirmation from Andy that the appearance betwixt chrome and polished SS should be close enough. Reina's own website doesn't even include 'polished SS' valves, just chrome (and brushed)  http://www.reinadesign.co.uk/valves/

I guess, if in any doubt, drop them a line?

  • Thank you. It’s not even in a bathroom it’s a loo and sink. I think it’s drips from hands being dried.

Chrome finish are cheap and cheerful, I’ve taken many out the box and they’ve got rust inside and out
