Mechanics have no test of competency and need no experience or pass any exams to work on a car. They have no registration. They have no characteristics of a "profession" and can't be regarded as such. They are putting people's lives at risk. Servicing and repair of cars desperately needs regulation.Did a mechanic run off with your wife or something?I mean, why else would you continue to spout this garbage?
There are about 33 million cars in the UK, the vast majority of garages are decent and competent otherwise we'd have cars exploding all over the place. The garage I use has various certificates up for the staff members, so there's definitely something.
